Volkswagen Bus Sound Upgrade
Our client from North Vancouver recently purchased a 1970s Volkswagen Bus and brought it down to our shop. Although the vehicle was in pristine condition, there was no factory stereo system installed due to its age. Our client expressed a desire for high-quality sound in the front and rear, as well as a subwoofer. It was important to them that the vintage look of the vehicle remained intact. To meet these requirements, we carefully considered various options and ultimately recommended the Prime Series Speakers by Rockford for the front and rear speakers, along with the Rockford P3008P amplified subwoofer. These choices would not only provide crisp and clear sound but also maintain the timeless vintage aesthetic our client desired. The Prime Series Speakers by Rockford Fosgate are a high quality budget friendly option for car audio enthusiasts seeking exceptional sound quality. Furthermore, they are built to last, with high-quality materials that can withstand harsh conditions. We had to work with our client as he had made a custom wood interior prior to bringing the Van into the shop for the sound upgrade. Taking that into consideration, the rear passenger bench seat was not the optimal place for the speaker location however gave us a lot of room to mount the speakers and running wires in this area was relatively easy as there was ample space to conceal them. By installing the speakers in the rear bench seat, we were able to achieve optimal sound dispersion throughout the vehicle.

Rockford P3008P
Our client’s main priority was concealing the subwoofer while minimizing its space requirements. After exploring various placement options, we collaborated with the client’s design and determined that the optimal location was inside the front passenger bench seat. This location offered a hollow space that would typically be covered by a cushion, ensuring the subwoofer remained hidden while allowing enough room for wire installation. Considering the limited space available, we carefully considered different subwoofer options within the client’s budget. Ultimately, we selected the Rockford P3008p. This subwoofer stood out because it incorporated an amplifier within the enclosure, eliminating the need for additional wiring and amplifier placement. Moreover, the P3008P delivered impressive, rich bass tones that perfectly complemented the vehicle’s overall sound system.
