A subwoofer box needs space. In a pickup or full-size SUV, that usually means the back seat of a crew cab, the bed or the cargo area behind the third row. Plenty of owners put off adding bass because they use that space.
A JL Audio Stealthbox fits into unused space. Each enclosure is moulded for one vehicle: under an F-150's rear seat, behind a Tacoma's cab wall, inside a Wrangler's tailgate or along a Tahoe's quarter panel. It bolts to factory mounting points without cutting, and the install is reversible. You can't see it from outside.

Stealthbox Common Questions
What exactly is a Stealthbox?
A subwoofer in an enclosure JL Audio moulds for one specific vehicle — it follows the contours of a truck's under-seat cavity, an SUV's quarter panel or a tailgate instead of sitting in the cargo area as a box. It bolts to factory points, so nothing is cut and nothing is permanent.
Will I lose cargo space?
No. The enclosure uses empty space under the rear seat, behind a trim panel or inside the tailgate. You can still use the bed, back seat and cargo area as before, whether it's a work truck or a family SUV.
Does a Stealthbox fit my vehicle?
JL builds them for a defined list of vehicles, not universally — but if you drive a pickup or a body-on-frame SUV the odds are good. F-150, Silverado, Sierra, RAM, Tacoma, Tundra, Colorado, Canyon, Ranger, Gladiator, 4Runner, Tahoe, Yukon, Wrangler and more are all covered. Do I need an amplifier as well?
Usually, yes. Most Stealthbox models are passive enclosures and need an amplifier to drive them, plus the wiring and integration to feed it a clean signal from your factory stereo. A few powered models have the amplifier built in. We confirm which yours needs with your quote.
Why have it professionally installed?
Fitting the enclosure is only part of the job. We need a clean signal from the factory system, properly set gains and crossovers, and safely routed power. That's how we get the subwoofer to blend with the rest of the sound. We've been doing this on the North Shore since 1985.
